2024 Revolutionary Dreaming – hommage to Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore
Where in your body do you feel a sense of justice?
We accompanied Surrealist artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore and found our grandmothers. Cahun and Moore were step siblings and queer lovers, half-Jewish and goy, poet and illustrator, and anti-fascists in the resistance against the Nazi occupation.
We were looking to them to show us ways to relate to their identities, as queers, as jews, as artists. And as anti-racist jewish and BiPoc artists living in Germany as the offense in Gaza broke out, we looked through them to think about how they might confront this moment.
Over the last months we have experienced the tyranny of the majority. Mostly a refusal to acknowledge the suffering of Palestinians. An incapability to find adequate language to call out the brutality. This refusal came with very real consequences. Invoking the paranoia that supporting the Palestinians´ right to self-determination means social and artistic isolation. But we believe that we can only move through this space together – by binding our creativity, our open heart and our fierce politics.
Let´s wander between dream and insomnia – sing with the subconscious – hack multi-generational body knowledge. Let’s get lost in a kaleidoscope of narratives
while moving body images resonate with atmospheric spontaneous compositions.

Struktur, dessen Ende mit dem Anfang verbunden ist.
Und noch eine Runde drehen.
Und immer wieder an derselben Stelle kotzen.

A performance lecture on cultural restistance, aesthetics amidst chaos, determination and loss, empathy and ideosyncracy, segregation and connection; A reflection of the experience living in Jerusalem and Ramallah at the time of the Gaza War 2014.

In the piece two bodies explore the living within formalized and abstract bodies to justify their right to exist (on stage, in theatre, in life). What emerges when we think about togetherness, communication and interaction via alterity and estrangement?

Die KünstlerInnen bewegen sich im Spannungsfeld von Improvisation und Komposition. Physisch öffnen sie den Raum durch das Medium des experimentellen Tanzes und Schauspiels; akustisch durch ein Klanggewebe aus feinstem Jazz. Mit scharfsinniger Berührbarkeit und brennender Intensität entstehen Momente von schönster Poesie neben ekstatischen Feuerwerken von höchster Energie: Aufgepasst, Massenchaos, Massenchaos.
“Walls Down- Die Mauer und das Ei”
Auf die Dauer fällt die Mauer- hermetisch abriegelnde Grenzbefestigungssysteme bietet uns die Welt als Antwort auf den Umgang mit Differenz. Doch was mit der Mauer in uns? Welche unsichtbaren Mauern halten uns ganz persönlich vom „guten Leben“ ab? Was hindert uns daran Widerstand zu leisten? Wie umgehen mit der Ohnmacht angesichts von Ungerechtigkeit? Diesen Fragen stellt sich das Ensemble mit radikaler Ehrlichkeit, rebellischer Empörung und empathischer Feinfühligkeit.
